12.06.2005 We haven't updated this page
in a few months and it is about time we let everyone in on what's going now and some future happenings. Before we get to that we
would like to thank a good band friend and a big supporter of the Coven, Leighann. She was even nice enough to start a MySpace group for us which you
can check out here. Thank you Leighann, we love you!
For now we are still checking out new bass players which is going very well. We have two more shows scheduled for this year and
are looking forward to a very busy 2006. The fuel prices are going down which is really cool because it means more beer for the
band! The Coven will be even more energetic in 2006 and there are several surprises which we plan on unveiling when the time is
right. So stayed tuned you won't be disappointed!
8.04.2005 What can we say? Coven of 13
intensely enjoyed performing at the SkyBar for Dark Sky Productions. As always, Anders organizes a professional, fun, well thought out
yet eerily morbid show (the Coven’s type of gathering). The sound was fabulous. Thank you to our friends that supported the show. We
were entranced by the patrons arriving in fellow Gothic garb. Optic Rose entertained with a lucid theatrical captivating style.
Forevers’ Fallen Grace put on tremendously tight show. Last but never least, thank you Joni for your photographic skills and energy.
7.30.2005 Coven of 13 was honored to play our music at Jamm’s (Jessica’s) Sweet 16 party. What a fantastic time! Come to find
out, her brother’s band “The Auburn Effect” is going on tour. Also, the birthday girl is a singer in Rock Bottom. Watch out for them!
Coven of 13 will happily be booking shows with this intense group. Thank you and Happy Birthday Jamm!
7.29.2005 We had the
experience of entertaining at the Bomb Shelter in Manchester, NH. Coven of 13 enjoyed the mill/warehouse sounds and effect. Put a new
spin on our music. Thank you Tara from Orrthannan Productions for promoting the show. Thanks to all that came and another moment of gratitude for our friends Blackout Frenzy.
7.28.2005 Coven of 13 had the pleasure of entertaining at Milly’s Tavern again. Great atmosphere and they make their own beer. This
line up was energy-filled. Thank you to Forevers’ Fallen Grace for setting up the show, all who came and also to Barbara for
performing her photographic services that evening.
7.23.2005 Coven of 13 proceeded to rock
the foundation at KC’s Tap in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. A special thanks to everyone who came out to see us! KC’s has a fantastic sound
person/system, stage and ambience. Nina from BB Entertainment collaborated this 5-band evening which culminated into a head-banging,
moshing, high-energy evening. Gratitude also goes out to Kaylegh for dodging head stocks on stage while performing her excellent
photography skills for the Coven Clan.
7.16.2005 What a exciting time to play
The Compound at an All Ages gathering. Not many venues offer these shows. Fantastic audience and a great line up that rocked The
Pound. Fantastic seeing patrons under the age of 10 hopping to the Coven of 13 beat.
7.15.2005 Coven of 13 enjoyed casting
their spell upon The Crypt. The venue’s atmosphere is filled with a plethora of gargoyles, tombs, skulls, castle features and more. A
most eclectic and inviting place for our dark side kin. Sorry, no pictures allowed at the club
7.2.2005 Independence Day Party at
Brian’s compound in Salem, NH. This all day/night event gets better and better each year. In the midst of the 10 bands that
entertained a crowd of 300 people, there was the “Dragon Man” blowing fire along with the “Human Fire Cracker”. By evening, the sky
was filled with fireworks whilst stumbling, but happy, onlookers cheered. Coven of 13 was delighted to entertain and cast their spell
while the mosh pit filled with battered people. Thank you Brian, once again, for hosting this hellacious party!
6.18.2005 The Coven of 13 crew enjoyed
performing at Evo’s Art in Lowell, MA. What a comfortable and historical area to play…great for the eclectic group. Once again, we had
the opportunity to share the stage with the intense, mesmerizing gentlemen of Forevers’ Fallen Grace. Blackout Frenzy also committed
to pummeling the patrons with a powerful, head banging, awe struck set.
06.17.2005 Coven of 13 entertained at its ‘Home Away
From Home’, The Compound in Fitchburg, MA. Guaranteed a great time. All four bands put on energetic sets and were thrilled to perform.
Come to our next show at The Compound on 7.16.2005 for an ALL AGES Battle of The Bands…
6.04.2005 Coven of 13 was part of three
bands that rocked at the Fishtown Artspace in Gloucester, MA. Dozens and
dozens of teenagers came to mosh and rock. What an audience – thank you! Fishtown Artspace is one of the few ventures that cater
to ages 5-19….great way to give kids something to do. They are privately funded and any aid to this place or others similar is
highly recommended. Thank you to Joni for her marketing and photography skills along with Katie, the videographer/drum tech and
thanks to KURTIE J, making his guest appearance ripping it up on the drums with Song #9 on stage with Coven of 13. Don't forget
to check us out on Friday the 17th of June at The Compound in
Fitchburg, MA
5.21.2005 Coven of 13 had the pleasure of performing at Goodtimes Emporium in honor of the American Cancer Society, run by Kats Costumes. From
noon to midnight, patrons were entertained with Goth, Metal, Rock, Folk, Dance and more. Thank you to all who came and supported this
extravaganza. Also, a special thank you goes out to Saber Moonflower who performed the closing song with Coven of 13…..you are a
Rockin' Lady!
5.20.2005 Coven of 13 shared a stage with Throwing Shrapnel and Forevers’ Fallen Grace at the 208 Tavern in
Worcester, MA. We enjoyed meeting the other bands and shaking the walls. Great job to all! The 208 Tavern initially looked simple from
the outside; however, inside was fabulous woodwork, clean and warm ambience. Most importantly the drink prices are very
reasonable!
2.26.2005
Saturday night Coven of 13 had the pleasure
of being on the bill with three remarkable
bands,
Dead Sober,
Mad Savannah and
Road to Nowhere at the
Reflections Lounge located in
Chelmsford, MA.
LowellRocks.com had set the show up and
managed to bring together four distinct
groups dissimilar enough to keep the
audience from getting bored yet if you
listened closely we all had enough in common
to make it a good mix. It was also the debut
of vocalist Syn who had one and a half hours
rehearsal time with the band in preparation
for the show. She did a great job! Our
former bassist
Blind Jak
had taken time away from his current project
to fill in for us and pretty much smoked the
place although there wasn’t quite enough
room on stage for his usual aggressive act.
To all who where there with us in body, mind
or spirit a warm and grateful thanks goes
out you from the band!
Just two short weeks from now on April
8th and 9th we will be playing at Club Fuel
(Lowell, MA) and at the Goodtimes Emporium (Somerville, MA)
respectively.
3.25.2005
Coven of 13 would like to step away for a
moment from the usual show updates and band
announcements to thank a very special
person. Every first and third Thursday
The Skybar located in Somerville, MA
hosts the Dark Sky Goth Night. As far as we
know that may very well be the only venue in
Massachusetts that caters to the Goth scene
with live bands. The driving force behind
Dark Sky is Anderson Mar.
Coven of 13 first performed at The Skybar in
July ’04 which was the bands second show and
our first show on a real stage. Anderson’s
official title is “Independent Boston-Based
Band Promoter”. Additionally she is
also a producer extraordinaire and handles
all the little details that makes a show an
entertaining and enjoyable experience for
not only the audience but the performers
also. Well in advance of us walking in the
door we had already spoken with the sound
engineer for any special requirements and
knew exactly where to load, stash our gear,
park, etc. Anderson made sure we where
hooked up with everything. After all
that she greeted us at the club and made the
whole band feel welcome.
Afterward Anderson went out of her to help
us out in many other ways and she didn’t
have too. She does the same for many bands
and the Goth scene in general. Thank you
Anderson!!
You can find out more about Anderson Mar and
what she is doing on her Yahoo Group at
New England Darksidewalkers
3.11.2005
Coven of 13 spellbound and entertained the
audience at
The Compound in Fitchburg. Such a
comfortable and friendly place. It was great
seeing heads going, people singing along and
actually dancing to a gothic death march.
Good job on the sound Ryan. Following us
were Adrenokrone, Rubicon and Dead Center
Universe who proceeded to rip the crowd up.
Great job gentlemen.
2.19.2005
Coven of 13 is adding Credit Card processing
to this web site. We'll soon be able
to accept Visa, MasterCard, AMEX and
Discover.
2.12.2005
Great night at
McGann’s in Boston. Warm and inviting.
Sound gentlemen, J&T Productions, did a
great job. We had the pleasure of sharing
the stage with End Way and Gone Baby Gone.
Real tight and fun bands – they got the
crowd hopping. Coven of 13 played the
Witching Hour and the patrons definitely got
a thrill. Our darkness on stage set the mood
and the energy changed from bopping to a
‘dance of the death’. Sending a thanks to
our new found friends from New York….great
people! Hey Saber it was great seeing
you again!
Coven of 13 was honored to meet Nills and
Neal who are going to be deployed later this
year. These
Marines deserve our utmost respect
– Ultimate Warriors… SEMPER FI (always
faithful).

This show at
Goodtimes Emporium was
extraordinaire. Our "hats off" to this huge
venue and especially to the unbelievable
sound engineer. Five powerful and tight
bands shared the stage. A 'round of sound'
goes out to the ladies at
Heathen Entertainment who had the
arduous task of putting this show together.
Coven of 13 was on last, midnight, the
Witching Hour! I think we were allotted a
few more minutes ~thank you. We appreciate
the people that came and the ones that
stayed to see our act.
1.14.2005
The Launch Party for NoMASoNHa Music
Magazine was fabulous. Shot Down Sun, Saturn
Effect, Coven of 13, Mongrel, Oma and SED
sent Club Fuel in Lowell, MA to new heights.
We were also visited by the lovely Triana
who runs
Lowell Rocks. Check out the site for the
Battle of the Bands. We would like to thank
Marc and Jen (zine founders) for all their
hard work. Thank you to Jon and Cheri.
for, once again, a professional sound and
light show. Applause to all the bands that
pulled together to support the new NoMASoNHa
magazine. Last, but no means least, to the
patrons that made the show! Thank you for
your support. Thank you to
Dark Intentions for offering their
fabulous photographs for Coven of 13.
Dark Blessings….

First of all we’d like to thank Jon for
inviting us to play Club Fuel. Thank you
dude for the sweet sound you hooked us up
with! Next we’d like to thank Shades from
Dark Intentions for the
pics! Check the Club out folks! It’s
in Lowell, MA. If you are into the
dark Goth scene this is the place to be.
Last but by no means the least we’d like to
thank everyone who came to see us, New Years
hangover and all. Dark Blessings!
